theflyingelf
Hello! I have a friend that needs an answer to this question! Do you think a heteroromantic bisexual who is demisexual towards girls, would be considered on the ace spectrum? i.e. No romantic attraction to guys, only sexual, but not in the demi way. Demiromantic towards females, and demisexual towards females. Thanks!
SkyWorld
Well, demisexual IS on the ace spectrum, so yes! Edit: Ohhh, I read that wrong, I thought it was heteroromantic demi-bisexual... some people just use it separately and it confuses me a bit and my mind just jumbles it together like that... Still though, I think it counts because demisexual is still on the ace spectrum regardless.
Philip027
bisexual on the ace spectrum Nope.
CNGB
Nope. That being said, I have different views on what makes the "ace" spectrum (which is strictly asexual and gray-asexual). For me, demisexuality isn't a branch of asexuality, but is instead a separate sexuality that deserves individual attention. That doesn't mean that demisexuals shouldn't be on here, or that demisexuals and asexuals don't make a good team.

Isn't demisexuality part of the the grey-a spectrum... since grey-a is in the ace spectrum?
Archon
I believe demisexuality is on the ace spectrum, so I think that the person in question could identify as being on the ace spectrum if they identify strongly with that, but they also don't have to. Your friend can identify with whatever labels they feel suit them best.

Isn't demisexuality part of the the grey-a spectrum... since grey-a is in the ace spectrum? Yeah, that's what I always thought, since it is under the grey-a umbrella... I just wasn't sure since my friend is kind of half-demi (he is definitely on the aro spectrum since he's demiromantic for one gender and aromantic for the other)
Star Bit
Well, he's momentarily Asexual for women, so yes, but the proper term for that would be Gray-A; Gray-Bisexual Demi-Heteroromantic.Demi-heteroromantic/sexual and homosexual. Or he could just go by gray-romantic/sexual.
binary suns
so she's sexually and romantically attracted to guys, but only sometimes romantically and sexually attracted to girls? sounds like it falls within the normal realm of bisexuality... not everyone who is bi finds themselves attracted to both genders equally... Demiromantic towards females, and demisexual towards females. Sounds like a no. By this description, this person is within the realm of bisexuality. Like Teagan said, it's not always perfectly even; you can be more attracted to one gender than another.

He's only sexually attracted to guys (not romantically). And he only likes girls romantically and sexually after that emotional bond.
verily-forsooth-egads
So to somewhat oversimplify, 3/4 sexual and 1/4 romantic, if we call a hetero 1/2. Not exactly on the ace spectrum, but still defined by terms nobody outside the ace community would understand. Definitely on the aromantic spectrum, in addition to having mismatched orientations. Tell your friend they are 100% welcome here and I will personally death stare anyone who disagrees.
KendraPM
He doesn't exactly strike me as being on the ace-spectrum, but since he doesn't exaclty fall under heteronorm terms either, I would say he's more ace-spectrum than not...? But absoultely, as Space Magic said, he's more than welecome here.
Ficulnean
I think there's something there falling on the ace spectrum, but on the whole, because of the heterosexuality I'd say no. It sounds more like being slightly aromantic if anything to me. I really really don't think we can make this into a fraction problem.

I confuse the pronouns from time to time xD
Star Bit
Well, he certainly has what I've heard as a "cross-orientation". If he wants to come to AVEN, we accept all types; sexual and asexual.
