What's your views on someone who identifies as asexual and within the adult industry, like web cam girl/boy services?

I have no problem with it... I did some work in the adult industry for a while (more technical, post-production work) and my bosses loved me because I was really quick on the work. I didn't get distracted, and blasted through the work in a fraction of the time it took others.

Services ? :O I remember wanting to cook and clean for friends.. Who are adults :D Is this the adult industry? Before I became ace I wanted to become a call person.. But, I found out tha tI would get attached to callers. It would be a huge mistake.

If it works for you, more power to you. If it makes you uncomfortable, absolutely don't do it. (With cam services, etc, I'd wonder more about security ... like, how to keep whatever you do from turning up elsewhere online ... but I assume there's some sort of procedure to it for everyone's privacy/safety?)

Really, really odd. Much like how I'd view someone who despised children making a living being a babysitter.

Well, what adult film actors do on set isn't exactly what i'd call "sex", either. Porn resembles sex in the same way that a fight in a movie resembles an actual brawl, and than there's a bunch of ridiculous other things that are added because of the need to slice it up and edit it together in a studio environment. I'd rate it as one of the more unpleasant and obnoxious jobs to do out there, and i'm not ace. Eh, i'd think that the acting would be an issue for an ace who doesn't actually have the same type of appreciation for the finished product as the intended audience.

There's something about an Ace being the most effective worker in the adult industry that just makes me laugh.

My first thought? Better them then me.

Honestly, if they don't mind it then all to them them. Personally for me it would be terribly tedious at best and horrific at worse.

As a side note I once thought being an escort didn't sound so bad (it was advertised in the paper and made it sound like you were just basically paid to go to fancy dinners with people and pretend to be their date). It was quickly pointed out that wasn't the only part of the job though, just the part they could print...

Just aware now...because it's so far-fetched to me; I could never play a 'role' in a cast-less, script-less, porn clip.

I don't think I'd last 60secs [no pun int.]. It'd be up, over and out. I could only do one 'take' a week. I've often failed to understand how these 'actors' can get it together, just to provide me with...where's the humanity in that industry?

I know I personally could never do anything in the adult industry because of how repulsed I am by sex. However, if someone else wants to do it then go for it! I may not fully understand their reasons for wanting to be a part of it, but as long as they're happy it's fine by me! :)

It's a job. Better than selling illegal drugs I suppose.

I worked in the editing side of the porn industry and here's a secret there are a few ace people involved in the other side of it as well. A job is a job and as long as one is a professional about it you should do well.

Seems fine to me. Makes a type of logical sense even.

I like the movie fight analogy- you can act out a fight without enjoying or wanting to actually fight. Hell, you can even enjoy acting out a fight without enjoying fighting. And if it's doing work on cams, I assume that's solo so being asexual wouldn't be ironic at all. If you think it's interesting I wouldn't hold back!

I think working there should be "entirely normal", especially for aces. - At least I am way more challenged to imagine the recreational (private) sex life of a hard working porn star.

I sell sex toys and I'm good at it because as an ace I can intellectualize sex. I imagine that people who work cams and such use the same skill. You know what the behaviour is supposed to look like, so it isn't hard to fake but you also don't get caught up in it. Basically it's selling a product you don't use but know everything about because you did the research on your audience.
