(h)AVEN like an awful lot of us! I usually say it quickly in conversation, "oh I saw this funny thing on AVEN!" "My favorite thread is back on AVEN!" Because I talk to lots of non-aces, sexuals, allos, whatever we're calling em these days, and I don't always feel like explaining or even coming out at the time! I guess some think it's just a random social media website.

I've only been asked, "what exactly is AVEN?" like one time, from my best friend. :)

No, it's not silent in most dialects, but that's not the point. The word contains 'aven' like 'avenue' and 'avenge' do.

Kinda just assumed it was the second one, that's what I've always called it and it seems right, English-wise.

I've always said it like the "Aven" in "Avenue". I learned in Ashley Mardell's asexual trilogy that it is like "Haven". But, I still usually say it the other way.
