Your Fictional Crushes (and Otherwise)

(If you notice a preponderence of redheads, you're correct. That's an aesthetic preference coming close to being an outright fetish, for me. )

I used to have a thing for Zero (Megaman X), Marth (Fire Emblem) and Alucard (Castlevania:Symphony of the Night). I don't think I have any crushes anymore.

Stiles Stilinski from Teen Wolf is a huge one for me, and Derek Hale on a smaller note. I did have a crush on Nick Burkhardt from Grimm until - SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER - Juliette turned into a hexenbiest and he was all racist about it - END SPOILER.

Some more are Simon Bellamy from Misfits, Eric Northman from True Blood, Castiel from Supernatural, Damon Salvatore from the Vampire Diaries, Daryl Dixon from the Walking Dead, Brigitte Fitzgerald from Ginger Snaps, and I used to have a big one on Trinity from the Matrix.

Sorry, I have no idea how to do spoiler tags here.

Life-long Fictoromantic here :P

It's definitely more than 'crushes' for me, but Ripley 8 from the Alien series (the last movie) Incariol from the Second Apocalypse series, Sandor Clegane from A Song of Ice and Fire, Jake's Avatar from the movie Avatar and John Rolfe from The New World are some of my more recent ones

I do have a big thing for humanoid people that aren't actually human, sometimes even animals with human personalities (just to be clear I mean FULLY human personalities like the animals in Narnia or from His Dark Materials, not like, animals that seem to have human emotions but are still.. you know.. house pets or whatever.. lol) It's not that often that I fall for actual full-blood humans ^_^

Rodney McKay from Stargate: Atlantis (especially this face), he's so awesome. My heart always break a tiny bit as soon as they introduce relationships involving him. I also experienced some sort crush on Veronica Santangelo from Fallout: New Vegas although I usually don't have crushes on women. The awesome thing is that she's a companion in the game and I feel immensely satisfied having her in my team.

I think there are a few more, but these two pretty much define all the fictional crushes I have from time to time. I tend to forget them once I'm done with the movie/series/game.

There is a bit of a list here for me

Kyo from Fruits Basket, Tamaki and Mori and Haruhi from Ouran High School Host Club, Zuko from Avatar the Last Airbender, Reed and Morgan from Criminal Minds, Sweets from Bones, and too much more.

Let's not even get me started on book characters.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have an interesting time drawing a rather blurry line between my 'fangirling over certain characters' and 'fantasizing about dancing and cuddling with certain characters on a tropical beach'. (Sometimes there's romance, and sometimes there isn't.)

My fictional 'loves' seem to fit into 3 general categories:

- I love them, but like a brother or uncle or nephew something. I want to love them and help them and save them and take care of them but there's just no romantic stuff going on there.

ex) Luke Skywalker, Bruce Wayne/Batman, David Banner (The Incredible Hulk TV show), Dean Winchester (Supernatural, he's a little borderline, though), Erik (The Phantom of the Opera, in his less evil incarnations), Jason Bourne (Ludlum's novels), Logan/Wolverine, Sherlock Holmes (is awesome), Spike (Buffy, etc.), Vincent 'Vinnie' Terranova (Wiseguy) (this is not exhaustive)

-I love them, and they're tall, dark, handsome, male, dripping with angst, potentially homicidal...sometimes they have evil alter egos, this is where some romance breaks in but even in my head it's usually hopelessly unrequited (they're usually devoted to their dead loves/wives/girlfriends/redemption.

ex) Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, Angel/Angelus (Buffy, etc.), Sam Winchester (Supernatural)

-I love them and spend a rather large amount of time imagining myself (or my avatar, rather) in romantic and domestic situations with them. These are the ones I'd marry.

ex) Lawrence Talbot (The Wolf Man, 1941), Drusilla (Buffy, etc. Don't ask me why, just something about her.)

Ah, here we go. I found this on the internet somewhere and forgot where or from who...but it describes me quite well (minus the pan aspects):

“I describe myself as pan-fictoromantic (as opposed to fictosexual) because although I develop strong emotional/romantic connections to fictional characters, of varying genders, races, and species (have my whole life) and although sexual feelings are involved, I as myself would never personally have sex with said characters…Instead, I insert an original character, whom interacts on a sexual/romantic level with the character I am in love with/attracted to, and I experience feelings through the original character. . . If that makes any sense at all.”

Before I sign off I feel compelled:

Egon from Ghostbusters.

"Hi, Egon. How's school? I'll bet those science chicks really dig that large cranium of yours, huh?"

"I think they're more interested in my epididymis."

This is particularly funny when you know exactly what an epididymis is and how not attracted to it Happy Kitty probably is.

You go, Egon. You go.

R.I.P. Harold Ramis (1944-2014)

I always heard this as "epidermis". Now you made me google epididymis... even going in expecting it to be a "naughty bit" (and, yep), that's a mighty weird detail part to be interested in... I guess even 98+% of sexual gals, sciencey or not, aren't terribly interested in that,,.

But yep, Harold Ramis is missed. :(

Oh gosh.... so many over the years. More recent ones: (TV) Tyrion & Jaime Lannister, Peter Hale & Deucalion (Teen Wolf - and oh god please don't ask - it's the age, looks and obvious brains involved... honest!), Athos & Queen Anne (BBC Musketeers),Spike (BTVS), Ronon Dex (SG:Atlantis)...... and you know what that's as far as the list is going to go, I could go on forever :P

I'm joining this because I have to start somewhere and it should be fun.

Mayor, mayor crush on Baron from The Cat Returns. Oh yes he's a cat. But a very elegant cat, he's the perfect gentleman.

And Hermione, because I grew up with her and she was the best: intelligent, beautiful and funny.

Also Bruce Banner. I guess I just love the smart ones.

I've always enjoyed some vicarious affection way more than partaking in it myself, so excited to jump in:

Ashitaka and San - both so awesome

Lapis Lazuli - recently learned how awesome Steven Universe is watching with my kid bro

Kurt Wagner - I'm with little fox and Mimicura on this one (but comics all the way!). Second Coming seriously broke my heart. And Kitty Pride's way up there, too.

I'm super aesthetically attracted to the character Noiz from dramatical murder BUT lol unfortunately for me that's a mature video game XD

I want so badly to collect pictures of him, but since it's super common to get pornographic images showing up (and I'm sex repulsed), I have to like... close the window and run away. So it takes me days to gather the pictures into one safe spot with no penile interruptions hahaha

Have you tried searching Google chrome with safe-search on? that should technically filter out the explicit images for you.

Yosuke Hanamura:

I mean, look at this guy. Look. At. This. Guy. He's so firken adorable. Plus he has a clumsy personality to match. I fell for his clumsy cuteness the instant I played him on Persona 4 Arena's battle mode. (Which was the first time I saw him.)

Minato Namikaze:

Minato-Namikaze-images.jpg

This is the most handsome guy I have ever seen. Everything about him is charming. Everything. And he's such a good daddy jkjsakjfhkjafhkjdsfhkj. Nothing will make me love a character faster than them being a loving parent, lol.

And as such, he is taken. So it's not quite so crush-y, but I would totally crush on this guy if he didn't belong to Kushina.

Son Gohan:

Gohan_(Revival_of_F).png

Character-wise (and adorable levels wise) I normally prefer kid!Gohan, but holy wowzers!--adult Gohan is such a flipping cutie in his Revival of F design. He's so damn cute I'm gonna die like flipping diejhbgdjhsgdjfbgdsjbfgjs! Like, I want to order a plushie of Gohan in these clothes and hug it to death.

Lucina from Fire Emblem: Awakening (and Smash Bros.), who posesses (as was the intent behind her design) supermagnet-tier attractiveness.

Professor Hershel Layton is the best man ever. I'd love to be his BFF for life.

Ema Skye from Ace Attorney is patently adorkable.

Steins;Gate's Okabe Rintarou (see avatar) for equivalent male adorkableness.

And some more...

Hannibal's Will Graham

The Legend of Korra's Opal

Welcome to the NHK's Misaki

Ace Attorney's Fransizka von Karma...

The list doesn't exactly end.

Manic Pixie Dream Nerd

Ok so first of all, LEO VALDEZ FROM HOL!!

Now that we've gotten that over with... Whenever I write a story and the main character has a romantic interest (which happened like twice usually I avoid the topic in stories) I end up liking the guy too, even though he doesn't exist and I made him up. >.<

Hmm...no, no crushes. There are some fictional characters that I strongly identify with and would probably befriend if they existed, but nothing like crushes. ^_^

My mind only works in terms of friendship, even in the fictional realm.

If the character is a dweeb, there is a 100% chance that I will develop a crush on them. Some notable examples are Alistair from Dragon Age, Peter Parker, and Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds (I've also seen a lot of headcanons with him as an ace!).

If the character acts all mature in smooth, but deep down is a dweeb/adorable idiot/awkward turtle, also 100% chance of me crushing on them. See Cullen Rutherford, also from Dragon Age.

If I could marry a fictional character, it'd probably be Rin Okumura.

He's funny, cute, would probably be very sweet in a relationship. Plus he'd make the relationship very fun.

Hmm, he's one of the only characters I could see myself having that sort of interest in, I guess. But still, at most I'd say he's just a character I love and admire a lot--since he's fictional, and he'll probably end up with one of the girls in the series, I find it difficult to associate him with any personal romantic interest.

All of my fictional crushes are pretty much platonic or even simply aesthetic, really.
