So this is a thing...

Not sure what to say. Not sure if she's even serious or trolling. Though I had to laugh a little when she got that cup and the drawing out.

I'm a person too!

This person... it hurts... the science... the ignorance... I've worked in a paleo lab, I've pulled perfectly intact fossils out of mesa sides, no spackle required (and really you'd use butvar and paelobond.) She's gotta be just trying to stir shhh up... really

I couldn't watch it all. How does she function on a daily basis??

Well, I failed to finish watching the video the first time around because I had intense dreams about her...

which were sadistic because it's all that such heretics of science deserve  /post700

I thought it was for a science class or something at first, but that she decided to piss off her science teacher halfway through. When she brought out the bone pieces, I thought she was actually going to tell me to put it together, meaning reaching into the screen and putting it together, because I'm tired and that's how things work when you're tired. Imagine my surprise when she actually did tell us to put it back together!

Yeah, I'm not going to watch that. I deal with enough of that bullshit as is...sorry!

I can't decide if it's real or not. I've heard some pretty insane opinions on dinosaurs before, but this just comes off as intentionally trolly to me.

After reading the previous comments in this thread, I've decided not to watch it to retain the small portion of faith I have left in the humankind.

Umm, people have been finding fossils for thousands of years, they just didn't call them fossils until after scientists started talking about dinosaurs. why do you think so many cultures have legends of dragons? People stumbled across giant lizard-like skeletons and came up with their own theories on how those came to be.

Well, I guess it's not as bad as the theory that Satan planted fossils in the ground to tempt us into believing the earth isn't 10,000 years old and that the bible is false. Cause, that's the best dinosaur hoax theory I have heard so far.

I am a science teacher and I fight this kind of ignorance every day.

Also I am leaving the job after 5 years. So there's that.

Pretty sure this is real. Follow the link in the video descritption and there's a whole website of a group called Christians Against Dinosaurs. Oddly enough there isn't a clear "Who We Are" or statement of belief or such that I could find, but my guess is there the sort who think a) evolution and geology contradict the Bible, and b) since good Christians always believe everything in the Bible because God wrote it c) dinosaurs are a conspiracy by satanist to make people disbelieve the Bible.

I was smirking a bit during the video, but I didn't really find it funny so much as sad. The story of how we discovered and continue to discover extinict animals is fascinating and wonderful, and these people are giving up so much wonderful knoweldge about the world in exchange for a paltry, false security.

What about the explanation that dinosaurs wouldn't fit in the ark and were killed out in the flood? That's not good enough for them? Come on; we're talking about creatures often MUCH bigger than elephants! It's good enough for most Christian kindergarteners,** after all. And since the flood was a myth anyway...*

*...like the first book of Genesis makes some sense if you take it as metaphorical over millennia

**(she's not a kindergartener, but seems concerned about children being taught about dinosaurs because they no longer and therefore never did exist.)

Come on. It is possible to be Christian and believe in dinosaurs. -_-

P.S. She probably smashed a flowerpot.

Heck, even the Pope believes in dinosaurs. ^_^

Come on, that's patently ridiculous. They were planted by Communists, after decades of backwards genetic research, to try and grow more dinosaurs to close the dinosaur gap.

The devil put dinosaurs here

Jesus don't like a queer.

The devil put dinosaurs here

No problem with faith just fear

Alice in Chains pretty much nailed it!

Coundn't stop laughing in all the video. She seemed so convinced when she threw up those carton flackes on the table and said they were dinosaurs.

Claiming the Dark Side can create would qualify as heresy in traditional theology.

My face was seriously contorted the entire time I was watching this. Really? OMG. Like the entire field of paleontology is fake. Really.

Did anyone else notice MrRepzion's videoreply?

The refutation of the original video consists of one phrase: rocks don't have DNA!

That's completely false, fossilization is the process of replacing organic components for metalic elements. When one is discovered the only thing that we see it's just the 3D silouette of an organic structure, similarly to the tracks we make when we step across the mud. The DNA cointained in its cells has been probably long lost during the mineralization, since it's not a very stable molecule outside our bodies. What differenciates fossils from normal rocks is that fossils have the radiactive isotope carbon-14, more likely to find in living beings and organic structures, that we can measure by counting the number of isotopes that have decayed into carbon-12, in order to find out the age of the article in question.

Thanks for the clarification! I don't know why the isotope method isn't commonly known, at least I read about it in childhood.

The argument about paleontologists not earning even close to millions is valid, though. Regardless of what they do, they bring little damage to the economy anyway, if any.

Your welcome! :D

I honestly can't think of a thing a normal paleontologist is able to heck up with economy, but they did revolve all what people knew about their world in that time, not only evidenced the Earth age, but Wagner's tectonic plate theory and supported Darwin's idea of biological evolution. Somewhat, it opened many doors that could have been easily closed by external factors forever, and I love synaspids and pterosaurs so it's a great thing I know I do!

I am not normally a violent person. Actually I'm not at all. I did, however, want to reach through the screen and slap her every time she made that mocking apologetic face every five to ten seconds.

But....Ms. I don't think rocks have DNA and....you know nevermind.

I might be crazy but that is a whole new level of crazy.

I wonder if she's related to the 'Santanic Monster Energy' lady.
