Posting on behalf of Kingston University's LGBT+ Society:

'' Hi there, from the Kingston University LGBT+ society. We are holding an introductory workshop on Thursday 5th of March 2015 at 7pm about asexuality and are wondering if anybody would be interested in coming along to talk about their experiences and/or answer questions that students may have.
The workshop will last about 60 to 90 minutes and light refreshments will be provided. The event will be held at the Knights Park campus of Kingston University (SW London/Surrey, Zone 6) and will serve as an informative evening as well as being light hearted and fun. We estimate that around 15 - 20 members of our society will come to the evening, therefore it will only be a relatively small group you will be talking to. If you are interested, please email us at: kingstonlgbt@gmail.com - thanks!
Best, Laura x"

Thanks for posting about this. I might well be able to make it, if I can arrange to be in London that day. We could also try the media team if we need more people for this.

Hi Michael, thanks for the offer but you don't have to travel to Kingston if it's far for you. They only want one or two more speakers,so I think there's no need to get too many involved. I'll check with them!

Ah, this is amazing. I'm a student at Kingston, as well as directing a documentary on asexuality at the moment. This is fantastic, I'll be definitely be popping along

As long as you're not bringing a video camera =P Just letting you know, I don't want to be in any video.

Oh no of course not! Just going to talk to people, just getting more information on how I should approach it, also to see if anyone wants to get involved, not going to interview anyone at the event.

I thought it was good as ith and Diego were excellent speakers and I hope the society found it useful! The uni newspaper wrote a great article about the event: http://riveronline.co.uk/kingston-university-students-learn-about-asexuality/

thanks for your kind appreciation :)

And nice article! They only got wrong the part on my parents. I have the most supportive parents ever. It was my gynaecologist who ordered a hormon check, not my parents :) my parents said that asexuality should be discussed more and that people should be educated so that everyone can identify as they feel most comfortable :)
