Ten years ago, I would have run screaming at the idea of being a parent. Probably even five years ago. In the past two or three years, though, I've come to realize that I do want kids; but I do not want to physically have children. So I am about the adoption someday.

Thanks. :) The newborn stage is *supposedly* one of the hardest, so I'm hoping that once he gets a bit more independent, things will fall more into a routine and stop being so overwhelming.

...Aaand now I feel like I'm a kind of case in point for this entire thread. Seriously though, people, BABIES ARE VILE AWESOME. :twisted: (No, I mean it - mine truly is).

i have no idea if i really want kids or not. they can be adorable, but also little shits. i barely take care of plants. i also don't want to push one out of my own body. that's painful and not gonna happen. if anything, i'll adopt a slightly older kid (not a baby but maybe like 4-5 yo). but i dont think you can adopt as a single parent, and i dont want that now, maybe not ever.

I am most definitely not made to be a mother. I firmly believe that, in choosing to be a parent, your life is no longer your own and you owe it to your child to essentially exist for them until they're are capable of being self-sufficient. That is not something that I am capable of, thus I'm not going to be a parent.

This so much. I also refuse to give up my life for the sake of something I have no interest in being involved with whatsoever.

It's funny; I either absolutely love kids or I deeply hate them. It depends on their personality.

I dunno if I'd ever want a kid, but if I did I'd adopt. The very thought of getting pregnant appalls me.
