Update to the Chat Room Terms of Service

Members,

The Admod Team has reviewed our kick/ban procedure for the Chat Room, and has decided to add a new clause into our Chat Terms of Service. It reads as follows:

Members may also be suspended from the chat room for up to three days while a report is being processed.

We are adding this new clause because there has been a trend recently with members causing problems in chat every time they're in the chat room, thus not giving Admods proper time to pull logs and discuss the problematic messages. This disrupts chat, and does not allow for other members to enjoy their chat experience. We hope that by adding this clause to our Chat Terms of Service, it will allow the Admod Team to deal with Chat reports without further interruptions to chat from the reported member.

This is not to say that every time content is reported, your chat access will be suspended. This action will only be taken if there are several reports on a member in a short period of time.

On behalf of the Admod Team,

Lia

Chat Administrator

A few questions.
1) If the person is not found at fault does he get "Sorry" from Admin/Mods?
2) Does the person who was not at fault get his three days back ?

If someone is given a warning, they can appeal the warning and the Admods will then take a 2nd look at both the written appeal and the chat logs. If there was evidence that the logs were misinterpreted, or did not break the ToS, then the warning will be removed and any chat bans relating to the warning itself will be lifted.

I don't get your 2nd question. Admods don't own a working time machine?

I don't think that mistakes are as much an issue as it might first seem; anyone who was mistakenly reported will probably understand that sometimes procedures are followed to prevent further harm done. Cops are allowed to arrest people to prevent crimes, in certain circumstances. Although this means they've effectively overreacted to a non-issue, that's because thhey've prevented it from becoming an issue. And in this case, there's no stigma attached to lossing chat time, and the forums always provide a recourse.
