Totally abnormal
I am a 26yr old female.I masturbate but do not have any fantasies of anyone,it's more of a release. I have no sexual attraction to anyone of any gender infact I don't really like people socially, especially men. Yes I can find them aesthetically pleasing but that's it. I don't know where on the spectrum I am. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Totally abnormal
Thank you so much, this is all such a new thing for me although I've had it as long as I can remember! Today was the 1st day of truly acknowledging it. It's going to be hard to explain to people as they all think it's an attention thing which it isnt. Finding likeminded people like myself is fantastic!
Guest
Yes many asexuals can and do masturbate ^_^. I'm asexual and masturbate (with fantasies!) I even practice non-sexual fetish, and I'm very sensual and intimate with my romantic partner.. I just don't have sex because it's not something I desire or enjoy. Totally abnormal
I am a natural loner socially anyway and have never craved sex with another person. Ive only ever whilst drunk. I get aroused still but not over anything. I dont get "turned on" its just maybe once or twice a week I'll have an 'itch' that needs scratching but sex with another human repulses me :(
knout
Yup, you passed the test and qualify to call yourself asexual! wait no, that's not how it works :) Some do, some don't. Some sexuals don't masturbate, that doesn't make them asexuals in itself :) Happy self-discovery :)
Eva
The things you're saying are pretty common, especially in these forums, but not only here. I think you're going to have to change your name to Almost Totally Abnormal.
Totally abnormal
Lol the name isnt just in reference to my sexuality its just me in general .
Beyourownspotlight
Really, you're the only one who can make that call. You can masturbate, and even have sex and still be asexual. It's not a lack of ability to have sex, it's just the lack of sexual attraction. We can still become aroused or have a sex drive, it's just typically not directed at anyone. Even if you identify as asexual, then later on form a sexual attraction to someone, no one is going to hunt you down and revoke your aven membership. I'm of the opinion that sexuality (and gender) is a fluid concept, it can change as we mature, or as we experience different situations, and that is nothing to be upset, or ashamed of. Even if it is hella confusing.
