This is quite amusing, 3 people voted, all questions have different results except this one "Do you follow a rigorous daily schedule and never deviate (unless circumstances force you to)?", where everyone said "I do not have a daily schedule but I do have regular habits".

Just a little something that made my day nice.

The fact that I am posting around here instead of doing work proves my point that my time management is appalling. : ]

I should mention that time management and productivity do not necessarily go hand in hand. You can be very good at managing time but also be very lazy.

Me. Very good at time management. Very good at getting the most lazy/relaxing time in my day while still accomplishing that which needs to be done. Very lazy for sure.

College self and work self followed two different types of time management. While I was in college, I followed a far more rigorous schedule, wore a wristwatch to keep track of time, while still maintaining a flexible enough schedule (for me anyways). For example, if friends suddenly wanted to go do something later in the week, I shuffled studying/projects around so I could have the stuff done before then and I somehow still managed to find time to play video games throughout the week, all while keeping an A average.

Work self doesn't follow such a time conscious schedule because there's nothing to study for. I go to work, work almost 7 hours, and then come home. The only deviation is that I'm studying for the GRE, so now I come home and try to get in 3 hours of studying/reading/practice before bed, which is harder than it seems because I still have to take a shower, cook and eat dinner, do errands, etc. And studying doesn't always go as planned. For example, I suddenly become really tired or feel a headache coming, studying becomes futile. And sometimes I can't ignore the calling to play some video games and I have a poor concept of time when I play them. I'll tell myself "ok, just 2 hours" and end up playing almost 4 >.< I was probably more productive as a student than a working adult.

I think time management is one of the few things I'm very good at. One of the things I hate most is being late, so I tend to follow a routine, which I know will leave me with plenty of time to spare (because early is on time, on time is late, and late is unheard of ;) )

With work, if I have a deadline to meet, I always try to be finished the day before, and if I have too many things to do, I'd rather work through my lunch break than be rushing to finish it at the last second, although I do get very, very stressed, so perhaps my way of doing things isn't really very good...

Unfortunately, I rarely check the clock (maybe once an hour?), unless I'm waiting until a certain time to do something (like if I know I can't leave until 7:00, from 6:30 I'll be looking at the clock every minute, so I won't miss it....), but that means I rarely know what the time actually is...

It's interesting how so many people have different feelings about this kind of thing.

Working in a fast paced environment for the last 7 years has turned me into robot where time management is concerned, because there is always so much to do.

On a typical day, I spend my time trying to avoid as much work as possible, :(

So do I actually, I avoid doing anything unnecessary and focus strictly on the essentials - job, videogames, TV. I consider my social life to be unessential although since I discovered AVEN, I have made it somewhat of a priority.

Lol, just cut job and tv out of that and you've got me, though I am working on my social life now too.

I just started rotating through orthopaedics though, and so far it's really nice so I'm going to give it my best shot this month, and not let myself slip far behind. :)

I work to a timetable , so there I'm good, but at home time management can be a bit random. AVEN is the worst, I can log in for a few minutes and still be here several hours later

I generally carry on according to whatever I have planned or may be planned for that day. I feel like I'm decent with time management, though anyone else would probably tell me I'm terrible at it. If I am told of an event or due date for an assignment, I'll plan at least a week ahead. I tend to leave early for things so I don't miss a lot. However, I'm forgetful and can be distracted rather easily, so I sometimes end up throwing a monkey wrench into my homework plans.

I like to get things done in a timely fashion, so I'm constantly glancing at a clock to check the time. I'm very regimented and I like having a schedule to keep me organized. If I don't work from a a schedule, I feel like I'd never get anything done! :)

When I'm at work, I have a general schedule even though my job is in the restaurant biz so it just really depends on if people decide to eat where I work or not. When I'm at home or on my days off, time loses all meaning and I forget what a schedule even is. There have been numerous times where I wake up and it's four pm or I'm puttering around on the internet or reading and forget to eat and drink and I think it's the day-time and I look outside and it's pitch black. Or vice-versa. I'll think it's like maybe six or seven at night and look at the clock and find it's like 3 am and I need to get to bed to get ready for work at nine, haha.

My time management is great when I'm at work. I'm like a well-oiled machine. When I'm at home, I usually spend hours doing stuff online and then chide myself for not getting chores done or not writing any of my story.

Like I said, I'm terrible at it..

My OCD is really focused on routines/schedules, soooo lol. I'm very good at time management, and I have that rigorous time schedule with little deviation. I pretty much do things around the same time everyday unless I'm forced to alter it lol. When something happens that changes up my routine, I'm not a happy camper. XD;

My times are actually very chaotic....at times. :P

Hell....I was planning on going to bed a few hours ago and now I'm very tired....but I still have habits....

Still I've not failed AGN's scheduled maintenances and such....only circumstances beyond my control (or tending to a rather needy mother) can do that....

I'm o.k. with time management. Far better than I used to be. I used to live in a very different, quite separate and personal, time zone. I now define myself as prompt.

I cannot have too much of a routine. As a recovering O.C.D.er, I find that it is not good for my mental health side of things. I do have regular habits (I found that to be, for some reason, a rather delightful term ^_^), I try not to be too rigid with them, but they do shape my day.

I try not to look at the clock too often and I do usually have a good idea what time it is.

I'm quite a ridiculous lazy procrastinator, but somehow I do manage to get all the work done in time, to a good standard, and with far less stress than my peers. I don't know how, considering that I don't start work I need to do till the night before it needs to be in, or even the very same morning!

I do have some sort of daily routine, but mostly because it's easier that way. If it differs then I don't mind much, unless it's disruptive.
