Mysterywriter221
I'm writing a casting call for a male character. We want to make sure trans* actors know they are welcome to auditions. We don't want imply in our casting call that only cisgendered male actors are welcome. How can I phrase this in a way that does not offend anyone?
verily-forsooth-egads
Don't overcomplicate it. Just say that the character is male, but anyone is welcome to audition [regardless of sex]. At least, I think I'm understanding that right.
C-3PO
Id say gender instead of sex, it sounds more welcoming, and maybe casually state "all genders"(instead of both genders) because at least for me it means that you are aware of non-binary trans* people
Mysterywriter221
So you think I shouldn't say "cisgendered and trans* actors welcome"?
C-3PO
I think that'd be fine too
