How do asexuals feel about nudity?

Recommended Posts

Do you care if you walk around your house naked if you are alone and no one sees you? If another person is naked in front of you, do you just see meat? Body parts that don't mean a lot to you and don't particularly attract you too look twice?

For me personally, I must always have on a shirt/tank top and long pants. Always, unless showering. *shudders*

If someone else wants to be naked, let 'em but I hate it.

I'd be uncomfortable doing it at first, but I imagine if I kept doing it, walking around naked would be less awkward over time.

Also, I'd probably be quite awkward if someone is naked in front of me. I don't see it as just meat, but I'd prefer them to have some sort of clothes on xD

I walk around in various degrees of nudity from shirtless to buck naked all the time lol. Maybe too often. Why should I care if I'm by myself? I'm naked underneath my clothes, too, you know.

Other people though? Ew, please no. I don't mind if I'm around a friend or whatever and they're not wearing a shirt or pants or whatever, but completely naked is too much. It's mainly genitals that I'm averse to. Ugh. *Shudders*

I have some personal body issues because I hate my fat, however only the fat repulses me, not the body in general.
As for others, I hate it when guys take their shirts off! It makes me feel uncomfortable. Like with shirts on I can appreciate a good-looking guy, albeit in a -I'd like to paint a picture of you because you are aesthetically pleasing, way. But I hate it when they are topless, especially if they have muscles, it's horrible.
Girls I am more indifferent to nakedness, it's like oh, you have a female body, I've got one of those too. And the amount of time I've spent doing amateur theatre, you have to get used to people changing in the same room, and changing your own clothes as well. But prolonged nudity is not pleasant to me.

I'd be more comfortable being topless than anything when it comes to lonesome nudity. I really don't like the idea of my naked butt touching furniture thank you very much. If the nude body was in sexual setting, I might bolt away running, but if it were non-sexual...I'm not sure, my reaction could be either acting nonchalant about it, or being all embarrassed and immature about it

I walk around naked on a semi regular basis, normally because I get distracted after showering of when changing and forget to finish getting dressed. I'm perfectly comfortable with it, and with other people seeing me naked.

As for seeing other people naked... again, I'm completely indifferent. If they're particularly good looking I'll appreciate it aesthetically, otherwise I couldn't care less... unless the person is particularly fat, I find rolls of fat rather unpleasant to look at which makes me uncomfortable.

I would say the same. That girls are indifferent to me, but guys, keep your shorts on, plz.

Yes good way of putting it. that's how I am. Or if I am going to bed right after my shower, love the feeling of the sheets on my skin. :)

I'd rather be in band.

I don't walk around my house in the nude. Although, that's more so due to the secret fear that someone could see me through my window than it is my asexuality. I don't mind nudity as long as it's in a more artistic sense, but if it seems more pornographic than artistic, it makes me somewhat uncomfortable. Also, I'm repulsed by genitalia, so if that's what's exaggerated, I want to retch.

I wouldn't really want anyone seeing me naked either. But a big thing, is that I don't like seeing myself naked. I'm pretty comfortable with my body, besides the fact that it has certain parts I wish weren't there, so I'd rather not see them uncovered. So a bra and boxers are a must at all times. But even then, I usually have at least a tank top and long shorts on.

As for others, I'd rather they were heavily clothed. I'm not a fan of bodies.
Like... some men came jogging by yesterday wearing nothing but small thin shorts, and I could only go, "NO!" and look away.

^This. I'm sex repulsed, but I can deal with *nudity* if it's just....nudity. Artistic nudity I can handle. I can assist a friend in a changing room with clothes when asked. I can change diapers when watching after small children. I'm slightly more uncomfortable with male nudity than female in adults, as actual genitalia is more visible without being awkward (not secondary sex characteristics). But for the most part, so long as it simple, run of the mill *nudity*, I'm pretty much OK. The *moment* that it turns sexual or crude though, I'm dealing with repulsion issues.

As for myself, I'm not comfortable walking around nude for any length of time, but that's more a modesty thing. If I leave something in my room as I'm starting to shower and my roommate isn't home though, I'll dash back to my room and back to the bathroom to grab it nude. And - on rare occasion I've gone down the stairs semi-dressed to get at a recently purchased bag of clothing (again when I either *KNEW* my roommate was asleep or not home).

I'd feel quite uncomfortable with walking naked around the house - no matter how hot, I have to wear something (shorts and a strapped top in extreme heat). As for seeing naked people, it's just meat, but to be honest, it's a bit of an eye-sore to me. It's just a personal thing, in any case.

Depends on the person, as with any orientation.

I personally am not comfortable naked. I don't want everything I sit on to get fluids on them, especially during the uhm, one week a month. And my breasts are too large, they actually hurt. But, I am comfortable walking around in underwear.

Other peoples nudity: If it's my partner, or say a friend I know really, really, really well or a family member and there is a legitimate reason (such as, I used to help my grandmother dress/bathe when she broke her arm), I am OK with it. It's just a body. But, for most people, it feels like seeing something very private about them. And, if I don't know them, it's uncomfortable. Like, the person you just met telling you their life story in embarrassingly graphic detail.

This. I don't like the sight of myself nude even, and I avoid mirrors in my room so I don't necessarily have to see myself nude from all angles when I'm getting dressed. But I LOVE my body -- when it's clothed. I think that way about everyone. People in general are so much more beautiful when they are clothed than naked. I mean, I appreciate the whole love your body thing, but why do you have to love it naked? Clothing brings out so much more beauty and personality. Nakedness takes away another medium for expression (unless the nakedness is a statement I guess).

In short, I don't like nudity, even my own. I don't mind it, I am not particularly repulsed, I just think people look better when they are expressing themselves through their clothes. All body shapes just look better with clothes :)

haha another naked sleeper. It takes an extreme cold snap to get me to wear anything in bed, it's so much comfier to sleep naked.

Uncomfortable. There's no need to be around naked.

And I wouldn't be naked around other people either, except my mother.

One of the things I hate the most is when you're changing clothes and there's only women in the room and I try to cover up but someone says: "Don't worry, there are just women here!". Like, what. My body is my own business, not yours, it doesn't matter who you are.

That's a really interesting way of putting it! I've never thought about it like that before but I have to say I feel the same way. I feel like bodies are a private thing. If I don't know you, PLEASE keep your clothes on.

If we're very good friends however, I actually find it... flattering for someone to be nude around me. Call me weird, but it tells me how comfortable we are with eachother that they are able to do that.

It is exceptionally rare that I myself have ever been comfortable enough to be disrobed around someone other than my romantic partner though. Even by myself I generally prefer to keep a minimum of underwear on.

I used to walk around my house naked occasionally when my mother was not living in my house. Usually when it was hot because the humidity in Florida is horrible even if you have a good AC. Being naked by myself seems fine to me. As for seeing other people naked, well I did not like seeing guys naked that is for sure. I have never really seen a woman completely naked before (except in pictures of course) but have seen them in bikinis at the beach. I am Heteroaesthetic so I assume if a woman were completely naked I would not mind it but at the same time, despite many invitations from guys in the army to go to nude bars, I have always avoided them. The idea always seems too weird to me, plus I would not be willing to put my money (or anything) down some stranger's under pants. That seems even weirder to me.

O yes, strip clubs, used to have a female friend that likes to go. I am not sure why, I wondered if it's to arouse the guys she was with. I had no desire to look at the women, kind of dirty to me, they've been everywhere, like a public toilet.

I'm not sure if this is related to my asexuality (probably not) but I really don't mind nudity either way. It's not the state that I naturally gravitate towards, but the family members I'm closest to go naked a lot of the time (though not out in public), and I've never considered that strange or 'wrong' or anything. On the other hand, though, seeing nudity does nothing positive for me except to sate any simple aesthetic curiosity about a person that I might have.

I myself don't like walking around nude, but I get cold often, so I find it uncomfortable. Its not my body that bothers me, but the slight breezy feeling and the fear of someone seeing me. I don't think your own body naked has anything to do with asexuality, really. Just my opinion though.

As for other peoples nakedness. Females don't bother me, but I'd prefer if guys kept their pants on. Same as others when it comes to girls, I have that sort of body, so I have no reason to let it bother me. Honestly, I don't think guys would bother me much either if I didn't have mental ideas of "why are they naked?" Its more reasonable for me to see women naked.

I don't care about nudity (which is a good thing especially since I've had to paint nude models before), and it doesn't gross me out either. I guess I'm just apathetic about anything related to sex, as long as it doesn't involve me being an active participant.

Sometimes I don't care, sometimes I look at it thinking "Really? Does this need to include nudity?" I can't recall anytime it disgusted me, but I sometimes look away from any exposed genitalia. For the most part, I don't mind, but around others, it's strictly limited to a few close friends of mine. I do tend to feel awkward when I'm around my friends and we're all naked. (Sorry if any of it is TMI.)

Oh my. I can't sleep naked. It makes me so uncomfortable. :P

Personally, I have no problem with my own nakedness but prefer to have something on my bottom half. My partner's nudity... Again, I prefer him to just be topless, but that's because I'm slightly repulsed by male genitalia. General nudity... I don't feel like I have an opinion on.
