All it would take would be for insects to contract cordyceps to humans

I also want to change my answer. I just looked up apocalypse on wikipedia. It says that it refers to the uncovering of knowledge, i.e. the revelation of the ultimate victory of good over evil and the end of the present age. In other words: and everybody lived happily ever after. Definitely my preferred end of the world scenario.

PS. EmpathyAce, I recently read the novel The girl with all the gifts by M. R. Carey. It's also about Cordyceps and has a really optimistic "disaster" ending.

That's likely one we could make it through, with a very good chance of survival... space is freaking big, and while the sky would look pretty damn funky for a couple million years, the solar system getting disrupted would be like hitting the lottery (in which horrific death would be the prize :p ).

...of course, there's still the little problem that by the time Andromeda is due to hit us, it will already be half a billion years since our sun has become too hot to have a planet in Earth's orbit remain even remotely habitable, and all the water of the oceans will have boiled off into space.

I never really understood zombie apocalypses. If you get bit you become a zombie. So, who was the first person to get bit, and how did they get bit if they were the first zombie...? Also, it's sort of like a less fortunate game of Tag. In Tag, you tag someone else who's then "It" and gets to tag someone else. Everybody runs away from the one who's "It", but when you get to be "It", you don't run anymore. You chase people. You run from the opportunity to chase people, then you chase people who run from you. Just replace "It" with zombie and "running" with humans. Run from zombies, get bit, become zombie, chase people. Except the zombies are in just as much as a bad position as people. Zombies aren't strong, fast, or smart. They can't pick up and use weapons. All they do is walk slowly and if they catch you they bite you. It's really easy to just shoot them in the head. The only thing they have going in their favor is that they sometimes swarm in large groups. Even then, someone could just climb to the top of a structure and shoot them all down one by one. I doubt they can climb, and if they can, you can just shoot them while they climb because they're so slow. I also doubt they can bite through armor.

Well the one I like the least is pandemic... I'm in the US; we have no borders. xD Okay, in reality diseases seem like the most difficult thing to fight or run from-- and contagions freak me out. I'll take my chances with Zombies, thank you.

I've panicked at the prospect of zombies/a zombie-like situation being real, so no thank you. If I had to choose from that list, a pandemic would be the way I'd like to go. I also chose the one about things remaining normal because, uh, the apocalypse is scary, hahaha.
