kaitly
Well, I'm kait. I'm 24 and I didn't really know about asexuality until I took a human sexuality class in college. I'd always assumed that i was sexual because i didn't know there was anything else. I'd never really experienced sexual attraction in middle school or high school, but i always thought it was a side effect of my anti-anxiety and anti-depression meds or that when i met the right person it would just -BAM- hit me (i read a lot of romance and fantasy books growing up). But, in college when i stopped treating my anxiety and depression with medications, i expected myself to want sex. well, surprise it didn't really happen. I've struggled for two years with whether or not i might be some kind of asexual, and i feel like i may finally have a grip on it. in so much as i can with no practical experience to back it up. So, yeah I'm still pretty new to this whole thing, but it would be really great to talk to people who i can relate to and maybe make some friends. As far as not asexuality things, I really like art and crafting. I do a lot of knitting, crocheting, and embroidery in my free time. I also really love tv, movies, and books. Pretty much anything you can do while close to an air conditioner haha ps i come from the tumblr school of grammar and punctuation, so sorry if this is a bit illegible

EmotionalAndroid
Hi, kaitly! Since you were so nice to post on my welcome board, I wanted to post on yours too! It's nice to read more about your experiences, as well. Ooh, you embroider? I do too, though I am fairly new to it. I mainly do kitchy old patterns on towels and pillows. What kind of things do you embroider?
Lady Girl
Hi and welcome! This is a great place to make friends. I love arts and crafts too, although it's been a few years since I crocheted or embroidered. I've been doing a lot of jewelry lately. I hope you love being part of this awesome community! :)

kaitly
Thanks for the welcome! : ) EmotionalAndroid - i like to do freehand embroidery, i'll do a little sketch, transfer it and stitch it up. I think the last thing i was working on was an embroidered portrait of my sister, but i got burnt out haha so it's been sitting in a draw somewhere for a while.
EmotionalAndroid
Nice! I've really been wanting to get into more freehand embroidery, mostly for portraits and things. I've actually made a pattern, but I haven't been sure about the best way to transfer it. I know what you mean about getting burned out from projects. A ton of mine are doomed to sit in a pile, too. lycanrising
Hey, it's a pleasure to meet you. Your starting paragraph just made me go off an daydream about what would have happened had I discovered asexuality in a class. I ended up with a mental image of myself jumping up and shouting 'holy s---, I'm asexual!' before falling off my chair. Probably best it didn't go like that then :P Well, if it's talking and friends you're interested in then a huge welcome to aven, a great place for both :D.
