Most annoying questions

Recommended Posts

"You're lying. I know you totally thought that X was hot and wanted sex with him/her."

"You're just a late bloomer."

"Oh, you poor thing. I'll find someone for you."

"How are you going to have children?"

*facepalm*

This thread reminds me of this video:

Most of these I've had at some point or another, so I won't repeat what's already been posted. Saying that, "Hey, me and the lads will chip in and get you a prostitute!" seems to be a popular one aimed at me too.

The most annoying question I got was: "So you're going to end up alone?"

Like everybody is guaranteed a partner who'll stick with them until they die. <_<

I actually am homosexual, but some of the most annoying questions that I have ever been asked are the ones that people should simply understand to be stupid before they come out of their mouths. Others that are annoying are the ones that are rather personal, and not the business of anyone else to ask in front of people in such a way.

"Do you masturbate?" is also so annoying, not only because it's suddenly "appropriate" just because someone said they're asexual, but also because if you say yes, people often think you can't be asexual and if you say no, they just think you're lying.

"You're just saying that because you're too ugly to get anyone to fuck you."

"You only say you're asexual because you're too much of a wimp to do it."

"you're just not trying."

"Then what exactly do you do for fun?"

"Isn't it boring to be alone though?"

"Yeah I kinda figured. You always WERE sorta weird."

"LOL you're going to die alone with like a million cats."

"Yeah, sorry for not inviting you to hang out with my friends. They're kind of a different crowd."/"Sorry for ditching you, we'll hang later."/ "Yeah I figured it's not really your thing." (Any friend that doesn't want to admit they don't want you around when they're going to drink, do drugs, have sex, or party because they think you're a goody-two-shoes for not wanting sex)

"Boy there really is a label for everything nowadays."

"Do you really need to label it? Can't you just be you?"

"People these days have become too focussed on individuality"

^ A response I got when I told an acquaintance that I don't intend to marry >.<

Oh I love when people just assume I'm trying to be special and get attention by proclaiming my sexuality.

Another good one is the "You can't dress up if your asexual, your just teasing everybody." Um excuse me, it's not my fault people can't keep it in their pants. If I want to wear the short shorts or wear makeup, then I'm going to wear the short shorts and makeup!

Teasing everybody would be kissing them on the top of the head telling them that if they do whatever you want then you'll meet them someplace and then telling them after they did what you wanted you say: Nope never hahahanana nana.

Ok defenetly the "but your human humans are sexual by nature/why are you denying it. Another one is its just a phase. Or when I was in high school before I had a word for it and ppl found out I have never/don't expearince sexual attraction (usually comes up when they ask why I don't seem to find anyone hot/not interested by conversations about sex) they would assume I have autism becuse you know, just cause I haven't felt anything that MUST mean I can't understand my own emotions/ be confused by them. Then they proceed be all its ok that you have autism, doesn't matter that I have already been psychologically evaluated twice once when I was six and again when I was 10 and no diagnosis of mental illness. (The evaluations where in response to gauge the extent of potential neurological damage I might have obtained)

Any comment involving the phrase "special snowflake."

Also, any comment that starts with "But you...?" (have had sex/have a boyfriend/have a girlfriend/tell dirty jokes/don't seem asexual/etc.) As if I have to prove that I am the way I am, or that any behavior that contradicts others' expectations invalidates my orientation, which it does not.

"You just have a low sex drive. There's a pill to fix that!"

"What do you find most physically attractive?"

"Oh, you're celibate!"

"You can't be asexual if you've had sex."

"God wants you to procreate."

"I'm pretty sure asexuality goes against the Bible."

"You've been dating for months. What do you mean you and your boyfriend haven't had sex?"

There are many, but the one I've had said to me personally and the one that annoys me the most?

"I bet I could fix you. ;)"

They take it as a challenge and/or they don't take it seriously. :/

It's also really creepy, depending.

As an aromantic asexual woman, these are the top 5 reasons why I don't want to come out:

1. "You're mental/damaged - along with other offensive terms, such as heartless, misanthropistic, animalistic."

2. "There's no such thing as that, I don't believe you."

3. "You're just a lesbian in denial."

4. "You haven't met the right one yet."

5. "You've had bad relationship-related experiences in the past which've turned you into some coward, but you won't admit it."

"Don't knock it until you try it."

"I've known you forever, you're not asexual."

"It's just because of your mental illness."

"It's because of sexual abuse, isn't it?"

That's not possible."

All of this these drive me crazy. People could not be anymore rude than this.

ALSO

"You're too young to know." This makes me the angriest. Sexuality is fluid, you shouldn't be discouraged from exploring their sexuality.
