34 year old virgin reporting in. I am fine with it and could stay this way forever but I am not adamant about it.

I'm a virgin. I don't necessarily like it or dislike it, it just is. I intend to keep it this way though, since I'm not interested in having sex.

I dislike the term "virginity" and the concept of "losing virginity."

I find it an unhelpful, and even harmful, descriptor of one's sexual experiences, with a more sex-negative tone, especially considering it's historical origins.

I currently prefer "sexual debut" as coined by Laci Green and recommend her series of youtube videos, especially this one:

I love her videos!

I'm 23 years old and I am a virgin. I have never even been kissed. And I don't mind (my virginity, not the kissing). I don't mind being a virgin, maybe I am even a little proud of it. I mean it is considered unusual at this age by many many people. And certainly in this sex-crazed society. And I'm not really looking for way to loose my virginity. I'm fully okay with it

I don't care one way or the other that I haven't had sex yet. I'm open to trying it, but only if it's with someone I know well enough. Not having sex does not equate to being "innocent", because my friends and I talk about sex (between fictional characters, more often than not) and other dirty topics. I've also written a few dirty things and tried drawing characters nailing each other, giggling like a schoolgirl all the while. I'm probably a bit immature in that regard of me occasionally laughing at dirty things.

If I have sex, I have sex, and if I don't, I don't. For the most part, I'm indifferent to having sex and "losing virginity", though people should stop spouting ignorant bs about who can/cannot be virgins or lose their virginity and such.

I don't think being immature is nothing so bad as long as one is respectful. By which I mean mostly insults.

For someone I might seem immature as well. I can get very uncomfortable and awkward when discussing it personally. When it's a 'casual' discussion on this topic I get annoyed. Everyone's different.

I was really annoyed with being a virgin when I was 29 because "heck, if you hadn't done it by thirty there is something wrong with you" But that was societal pressure. Now 3 years on I've accepeted it and if others frown upon it, it's their problem.

I want to stay a virgin now that I know sex isn't a required part of those relationships I want.

Never let society pressure you. Do what you are comfortable with :) :cake:

I just found out that a buddy of mine from the army did not lose his virginity until he was 29 and said he was glad he waited. He isn't asexual though.

Kudos to him, that's pretty cool

now that i think of it, i can see a certain appeal in being a virgin. it's kind of beautiful.. and that has nothing to do with prudish values.
in the third item i chose "(my virginity is...) someting that makes me unusual".

I don't really care about my virginity in the same way I don't care about the fact I've never played golf before. I have no opinion of it. I don't like it or dislike it, I don't care if I lose it or not, it doesn't impact the way I feel about anything, it's meaningless.

I need a "no opinion" option for the first question before I take poll.

I think I care that I'm a virgin mostly because of societal pressures. I know people think I'm weird, and I know my parents think something is wrong with me (a multitude of somethings, believe me. I'm "the daughter that's afraid of everything"). It's also really hard being the middle child and having your older sister (33) have a baby and your younger sister being very sexual (she's gonna be 22 now but way before that she was sexual...).

And if you really want to talk hard, try being in a workspace where 15 and 16 year olds are showing off dick pictures and crowing about where they've had sex and then they look to you and you're a terrible liar but you also don't want to reveal that you're 8 or 9 years older than them and a virgin because that leads to an avalanche of unwanted questions and judgement.

I'm also curious about the act itself, like what it would be like, but at the same time I still have the core "ew, really? Nah." aspect to deal with, haha!!

Ikr? My brother used to ask me whenever we were alone if I had a girlfriend and then jokingly if I had a boyfriend. I mean, really? Why such stereotypes? That at first. Then why was it his business? If I did I might tell. But I didn't wan anyone. It was really annoying. Thank goodness no one is bugging me now. And even better, my mom doesn't expect me to have kids.

Oh goodness yes. High-school. People around me were talking about how often in a week, how, and where. I never understood why was it like an ordinary discussion topic. Ugh!

I don't really care too much that I'm a virgin, mostly because I'm completely indifferent to sex and the sexualized stuff in society, as well as to the fact that I don't understand it at a level that a lot of people seem to. I do happen to be quite innocent, especially in terms of sexual things, but that's mostly because I never really cared to spend time learning about something I don't wanna spend time actually applying in my life, if you know what I mean. Is there a possibility that I could lose it someday? Maybe, but that's so distant in my head that I don't even consider it. The only thing I fear about losing my virginity is that it will happen at a time when I don't want it to.

Yes, I plan to remain a virgin forever. I don't see any reason for me to engage in sexual activities.

I'm not going to do it because someone else might want it. I feel no obligation. I don't feel a need to "lose it" like most people seem to.

As for liking being one, I don't know. I don't think about it.

I guess that part I can say I do like about being a virgin, is that I know I never pushed myself to do something I didn't want to do, just because of somebody else. ^_^

But other than that, I don't exactly think about it much. My life is more than whether or not I've used an organ.

For innocence. I don't know what that's referring to. I suppose I'm "innocent" in terms of sexual things. I don't get myself involved in anything remotely sexual, so I guess I'm innocent there. I'm incredibly repulsed, so I wouldn't even think to get involved in any of that.

As for other things, I don't know. I don't do anything necessarily bad or illegal.

Only thing I can think of, is I swear far more often than I should. But my family was like that the whole time I was growing up. There was no censorship, so it rubbed off on me. :P

I'm not particularly proud of it, but I don't notice it half the time to change it.

And I suppose it's my business. While I was growing up, everyone would say "We need to get you laid! You have to lose it!"
Why? What's it matter? Nobody's getting hurt over my not having a thing in my thing, so what's the big deal?
I suppose for my age, it makes me kind of unusual. But that's not a problem if people want to make it unusual... *Shrug*

SERIOUSLY. What really annoys me is whenever people know you don't have a boyfriend, and so they immediately start asking in a rude way if you have a girlfriend. I know it's not a general, innocent curiosity but it's a joke to them and I hate it. Or in your case, vice-versa, haha. I'd get "oh, so you're a big ole lesbian??" at work. Nothing wrong with lesbians, I just don't like being mislabelled, ya know? Just like I'm sure a lesbian wouldn't want to be mislabelled either, unless she had her own safety to think about. It's good you've got your stuff together where you aren't being hassled anymore, though! That's nice to hear!

High school was straight up gross. When I went out for my 21st birthday with a friend of mine, she parked her car in the parking lot of Wal*Mart (I remember this vividly) to smoke, and then she just kind of side-eyed me and asked "you've never had sex, have you?" and I was like "Um, no??" and she was like "I didn't think so. Blowjobs suck." and I'm like ?????

I don't understand the fascination with sex, even at a basic level. What prompts you to speak about it casually at school, or at work, as if you're talking about the weather? It really irks me now because we have a girl who is pretty religious (she's not Amish but she wears the dresses. I'm not certain what she is) and she's FIFTEEN and people I work with still talk very explicitly about sex around her. Her face gets beet-red and she's not happy about it but she's really meek and can't speak up about it and I'unno. I just want to protect her from that. ...I think I strayed from the topic a bit. Just a bit.

I stand by it all, at any rate.

Yea, he stopped after like her himself got a gf. But what I don't like more is people "assuming". Why the stereotypes. I wouldn't mind if the someone asked me, "Do you have *someone*?" That's a different story. Though, yea, if they were asking me all the time it'd still annoy me. Like a friend in High school who asked me like every month.

Ikr? It's exactly as you say. They talk about it like it's weather, or them playing golf. That always made me feel even more isolated in school, because I used to be really isolated. People in High school though I was gay and bullied me mentally because of it. And here were two people who weren't able to talk about something else.

I'm not exactly happy being a virgin. I find it a bit embarrassing considering I'm a 25 year old man. I prefer not to tell people because of how I think they would react so I don't tell people. Usually if people bring up sex In a conversation, I just make something up so I don't feel like the odd one out.

There have been times where I've thought maybe I should just try and have sex, but I just can't bring myself to attempt the act.

I wouldn't consider myself innocent. Don't think Innocence really has much to do with innocence though.
I think it's something that makes me unusual as It's not exactly common for someone in their mid 20's to be a virgin.
