Huh.. I've played almost all those to some capacity. Games since the late 80's to the modern era. Not sure what classical semi- or modern means...

Heh. My kind of poll! ^-^ Honestly, I've played almost any type of video games, though I suck at first person shooters(I panic shoot), and I don't play enough of some other genres to really count. My favorites, though, are Strategy/Tactics(like Fire Emblem; I love me my Fire Emblems), RPG(like Final Fantasy; I love me my [early] Final Fantasies), and Adventer and Problem Solving(like Zelda; I love me my Zeldas). I just love games so much! I play games from pretty much every era, too; I used to play a lot of Athari cames, until my grandmother gave away the Athari. -.- Still play Sega Genesis, N64, Nintendo, and Super Nintendo. And, of course, I play PS1-3, Wii & Wii U, Xbox 360(though I don't get the chance to play it very often; my dad likes to hog it), and my hand held systems.

Woo, video games! Hello, my fellow gamers! I play pretty much any genre except for realistic simulations/sports/driving games (things like flight simulator or football never appealed to me). My favourites would be FPS, action/adventure, RPGs, and your typical Mario platform game.

I barely play any video or computer games (used to play some Super Nintendo and SimCity 2000 way back in the day) but I play a lot of tabletop games (classic like Taboo and modern like Carcassonne), party games (like the Game of Things or Apples to Apples), and traditional role-playing-games (Dungeons & Dragons, World of Darkness, etc.).

Ah, I like to try out anything, I just can't warm up to sports/racing games or simulators. Some games I like are The Binding of Isaac, TES: Skyrim, Portal, The Walking Dead, Pokemon, 9 Persons 9 Hours 9 Doors, Golden Sun, Don't Starve, and many more. I don't really care about genre, classical, modern or anything else, as long as it's fun. ^^

I'm a platformer freak, myself. Doesn't matter if it's 2D or 3D, I most likely love it. Same with the "action-adventure" genre. Of course, they're not the only things I play, but they're definitely my faves.

Do shmups count as arcade sims? I used to play Touhou games for a short while, but I haven't touched one since Ten Desires came out.

I tend to play third-person shooters sometimes (Saints Row is the one popping up in my mind at the moment). I play action-adventure games from time to time (I forgot to check "Adventure" in the poll, but I think "Mixed genres" covers it), and occasionally [survival] horror. Sometimes, I play musical games or simulations. RPGs aren't my cup of tea, though.

You guys have no idea how disappointed I am that my computer is too recent to handle older games like the Clouds of Xeen and Dark Side of Xeen. I wish I was the kind of nerd who could download some megabytes or whatever it is nerds do to get older games running on new computers but I'm the worst at the kind of stuff. I also miss that old "Warlords" game from the 90's. I feel like I should add "dagnabbit!" after all that... Kids today...

I would recomend every RPG or turn based or text based gamer towards spiderweb softwear. their games are like interactive novels and strategy games combined. They have pixel graphics though. Still awesome and literally epic.

I can enjoy games of any genre, so long as the game itself is good to me. I don't care when a game was made either.

I mostly play modern games (I love HD graphics, so sue me) but I'll throw in an old PS1 game from time to time. Or if I'm feeling really nostalgic, a point-and-click title like Day Of The Tentacle or EcoQuest.

I think this poll lacks question about platforms.

I play a lot of PC games but also tabletop and pan&paper RPGs. When it comes to PC games I like both good classic (even older then me - like first Prince of Persia :D) and new games. I mostly play cRPG (especially tactical, isometric) and strategies, but I also like action, adventure, platformers, puzzle, survivals, sandboxes, MMORPGs and some Hack'n'slash.

Rarely I also play on smartphone but only some logic games.

I'll play most any game...though my favorites tend to be platform, action/adventure, and RPG. : ) I also love music-related games...I wish there were more of them. ♥ And I'll play games from any era, though mostly modern these days.

I play quite a bit of RPGs and action/adventure games. Though I also really like racing, simulation games, and the occasional rhythm game. I'm trying to get into strategy and tactical RPGs, but it's hard to find those sort of games for beginners. My favorite kind of games are side scrolling platformers though.
