I'm just curious what do you think about pornography and your views and reactions on it.

Porn always makes me so gross. I don;t understand how those women can be so sexy, they look rather as plastic dolls. Moreover porn shows women as sex machines who always agree and are always on demand.

I wasn't able to participate in the survey because one of the questions asked if porn is oppressive to women. Well, it depends on the context. The choices were yes, no and sometimes. If there was an option for other, I could answer the question because I could not based upon the three options provided.

For me alone, yes -- I believe the porn industry oppresses women in general. For those who participate in the porn industry, it is not necessarily oppressive. I cannot speak about women who WANT to be part of the porn industry, be it in front of the camera or behind. Some women believe they have no other options to earn money to support themselves and/or their families. Other women like it as well as the celebrity it provides for them. Some woman are kidnapped, enslaved and forced to be in it. Underage children are part of it. Some families in third world countries sell a child to feed the entire family and this child ends up used in the porn industry -- I honestly don't know what this says about the parents -- especially the mother as I'm not in her position and have no experience upon which to confer. So, I speak about porn as an industry, not the images in magazines or pornographic movies. And, as far as the First Amendment in USA culture, it is legally protected provided no other components are illegal (e.g, money laundering; front for drug distribution, etc.). While I am not a fan or admirer of pornography, I am a true believer in my First Amendment.

I find pornographic images and movies nothing less than disgusting, repulsive, repugnant, degrading, demeaning, disturbing -- no matter how much the image is altered to create some imagined ideal of female body perfection. Its emphasis is in specific body parts and a woman is more than a support system for an orifice (or orifices). I find it highly problematic in the sense that some men I had encountered (when I was much much younger) had truly unrealistic expectations from the women they encountered -- that these women (including myself) should look a certain way, be sexually available at the convenience of men, and, behave like the women in porn flicks or the imaginings of men when they look at pornographic images in magazines. Yet, these same men did not have to look like a male model, could not be easily aroused immediately after coitus, and, did not and could not perform like the men in porn flicks. I am no fan of the porn industry. Never have been. Never will. The only thing I support regarding the porn industry is their right to free speech, that's it.

I messed up my vote for the first question. I meant to select that I don't watch porn and also that it makes me feel disgusted, rather than just disgusted. In general, I dislike porn and it's gross to me. Even so, it hasn't influenced how I see sex though. I figured that wasn't how your "average" person who has sex does it, anyway, unless they want to try that.

The only time I watched porn or at least some of it, was when I found it by accident at the age of 13. I wish that I had the chance to have never seen it. That incident scarred me from it, forever. I didn't want to see it the way that I did. ugh.

My only experience of porn is when it sometimes popped up on the sides of some websites that I probably shouldn't have entered in the first place (back in the day when I was somewhat younger -_- ). Back then I thought they were disgusting and could not for the life of me understand why did those websites want to gross out the people who browsed them.

I still find porn disgusting.

Porn is so unrealistic and fantastical that I honestly can't even try to get into it. The only porns I've enjoyed watching were parodies like SpiderBabe or some Twilight porn. Even then I watched it with the same mindset as anyone going to see Scary Movie or the like. Not serious and just there for an easy chuckle or two.

I enjoy watching amateur pornography, self-shot by loving couples who enjoy the same kinks as myself. Being able to appreciate the human body (which in these cases is real as opposed to the predominantly plastic bodies of mainstream porn, and also, to see real pleasure being experienced from such kinkiness) is deeply emotionally rewarding for me. Sexual arousal however, is not something I experience when watching pornography. This particular poll seems to only cover mainstream pornography: which is generally terrible, and almost always, very trashy ^_^

I don't watch porn but what I have seen is kind of nasty and off-putting. Plus, I don't think that's what it's really like. I imagine real sex to be much more boring and uninteresting.

I'm capable of having a libidinous reaction to porn. However, I think any sex without love is inherently degrading (for men and women, even if they themselves don't feel that way). I don't expect others to necessarily believe that, it's just my personal belief influenced by my spiritual convictions. I think it is wrong to enjoy the degradation of other human beings, so I choose not to watch. I do think it is bad for society that young people are being bombarded by porn and may take sexual cues from it.

I used to have a really negative reaction. Get it away get it away, ew gross, feel guilty for no reason and pray for a million years.

I still don't deliberately seek out porn, both for religious reasons and general disinterest, but I can't help but encounter it occasionally on Tumblr. I've gotten more neutral to it, even the unusual stuff. I can skip it and go on.

Some of my family would tell me I'm desensitived and that it's unhealthy, but I think it's healthier because I don't let other peoples' interests hurt me anympre.

I find it disgusting, degrading, creepy, and misogynistic. It's pretty clear the actors are using each other's bodies as masturbation tools/objects and they have no love for each other, nor any friendship.

Whenever I get over the shock factor it's completely dull and repetitive. I really don't understand how people can watch it so much, it's so mind-numbingly constructed and dehumanising.

If I watch porn, my reaction is usually meh, unless there is a cool tattoo or something to be interested in, or one of my kinks is being explored, in which case I am interested in the kink, not the porn. I dont find watching porn amusing or exciting or repulsive.... Just very meh.

I have a friend who reblogs a lot of porn stuff on tumblr, so I've stumbled across a lot of porn blogs. I go on them in pure curiosity. One of them had homemade sex tapes, and I watched about three of them. It was both really, really disgusting and yet somehow hilarious. I don't actively search for it, though. I kind of wait for it to find me.
