Gorax was on AIM tonight and he was watching it and I was pacing at my computer waiting to hear how it was....I was so excited even despite not actually getting to see it! I found it a bit amusing that every few minutes they cut to people in their underwear, but I guess that's just something that the show does, and would hopefully help keep people's attention. :) I'd have to watch it over again to remember any exact quotes from it since I was a bit preoccupied while watching it, but from what I saw it was just great. :D PS: Now I want to give boa a hug too. ;) Link to post Share on other sites

I was thinking tho', had I been there, thank GOD I didn't have to show them how I bowled!Did any quotes that people said really stick out? I liked how it was pointed out that asexuality and antisexuality aren't the same thing and that they had a diverse bunch of you, everyone had the same but different story. Oh, and AVENguy pointing out that "it's possible that it's a phase, just like a straight person could wake up tomorrow and realise he/she is gay but I'm not going to spend my life thinking about it.What did it show us doing/saying, if you can remember? Mostly the bowling, walking (was that on a campus somewhere?) and interviewing you on the stairs. Mostly it was shots of you talking. Oh and they always take it to the streets and ask man-on-the-street type people. One lady was funny she said "I think it's just wrong, I think a sex drive is a good thing." I don't think she meant WE were "wrong", just that there was something "wrong" with us. She wasn't saying it in a disgusted way. The others were, like you'd expect, unaware that it even existed.What were Gerry and the other guy - I think there was another guy? - like? I think everyone was truthful and very...secure. If anyone watches that and still thinks we're "confused" about ourselves then they didn't watch the same show I did.What seemed to be their overall conclusion? The show before it was about nudists and they were all saying "it's not a sexual thing"...yet in between interviews they had bumping and grinding. I'm quite sensitive to bumping and grinding on the telly - I know, it's just me for the most of it but I found it amusing. Then went that one step further with my amusement and thought about putting a caption on them "asexuals don't like doing this...not do they want to do this...nor this." Apparentley Sex Files uses that footage for all in-between moments. Wonder if it's the same people, they must get TIRED! I enlisted a Canadian not on this board to tape it for me, but he didn't realize that 12:30am Sat was actually Friday and so he's shooting for the 3:30 time now. the bowling...i remember eating sour patch kids from a snack machine ...and i remember that it was the only time i'd ever worn my AVEN t-shirt in public - with half a dozen other like minded individuals also wearing their AVEN t-shirts - how exhilarating! If it's on again (Tues. at 3:30am back east is Tues at 1:30am here) I'll make another tape so I'll have two. It's perfectly okay to share them as long as we don't sell them. Customs is the real pisser. I can send one of the masters I have to someone in the US and THEY can share with everyone south of the 49 and I can send to all who are here? How does that sound? Wish I could see it--it sounds like a pretty decent production all round, though the random inclusion of people in underwear is rather bemusing--but as that's not very likely, if anyone should write up a transcription and post it online somewhere, they would have my undying gratitude... Regarding the show I would say that it was great, and -as tired as this word is-surreal to see it on television. The only possible negative is that at the end they included some talk about sexual aversion disorder and talked briefly with a 'sexual anorexic', at least thats what I think they called it, who obviously had some repressive issues about sex. They weren't trying to insinuate that those people were asexual, but just showing other incidences of 'no sex', though still the association may not be the best thing in the world. Oh, yes and also the vignettes of some couple slowing trying to feel each other up were also not necessary. Link to post Share on other sites

And am I the only one who heard the researcher say that he had found asexuals were 'less well educated' than sexuals?! Wow, that's not what I thought Geri would look like. Huh. Overall best line was when the female narrator said in this enthusiastic voice: 'David even enjoys masterbation!' Still laughing over that. She sounded so happy for him. I really hope people watching this see the difference between sexual anorexics and asexuals. Especially since the anorexic guy said he felt superior to sexuals.
