Oh no! DB!
I understand your priorities completely, though, of course. Hope your friend's not doing too badly.
But I'll still do some self-indulgent

As I seem to have acquired some sort of organiser status, if anybody wants to say they are coming message me and I will create a list. It would be good to have an idea of numbers. Also message me if you want a phone number to call to say if you are late or lost.
Other than that the plan is: meet at the Cornerhouse around 11, drink coffee, decide what to do in the afternoon, have lunch (possibly Chinese) then do whatever activity we have decided on.

I can't make the Liverpool one either cos i'll have just LEFT Liverpool (forever - gasp). Not doing too well on managing these!! Ho hum. And i'm living (95%) in France next year (and maybe there during a lot of the summer) so you're all a bit doomed in seeing my face again for a while haha
Oh DB I hope your friend is okay (and you too).
Enjoy the meet, whoever is going!
P.S. Just thought, if I am in France next year, you could come and meet me there .... that'd be a different very interesting cultural aven meet

We'll meet at the Cornerhouse from 11am onwards.
Here's a page about how to get there: http://www.cornerhou...out/?page=22330
And here's a map: http://www.multimap.com/maps/?zoom=16&...GB&qs=M15NH
It's just next to Oxford Road Station, and about ten minutes walk from Piccadilly.
Message me if you my phone number or want to give me yours.
Sorted. Respect due. (As Stouffer the Cat would say). Apologies if this is meaningless to you.

Exquisitely awesome. You people may be northerners, but you sure do know how to have a good jolly. (Hey, I'm a northerner as well, I hail from Normanby, Lincs.)
A very cohesive gang, everyone engaged with one another and 2 new people. Wow!
Some superb meet up ideas. Ninny will start a Dublin/Overseas travel thread and I'll be the first one to sign up. Cassies idea of a single thread with links will be arranged. The idea of having more spontaneous meet ups with like minded people is something surely worth implementing. The meet up scene will be more frenetic in the weeks and months to come!
Thank you to Ninny for starting this thread, and thanks to the Doc for a fantastic day.
Here are the pictures:
Firstly, none of this would have been possible without Ninny, who is the smartly turned out person below. Had she not started the thread, most of us would have languished at home all day, alone and miserable.

First, the cake drawing routine, here we see SootMouth:

....and Ninny and OperaGhost.....

..and after Cassie, DaveHat, Liz and I had a go...
Ta daa.... We have.....

Unprecedented in the history of UK AVEN meets, we have a picture of an AVEN meet. I managed to con them into posing for a picture. They've all have some serious explaining to do when their mums see this.

Oh, the chap with the beefy leather jacket (it was 18 degrees today, pretty warm), don't worry about him. I asked him whether he was hot, he assured me he wasn't and he came to no harm. If you fancy any of them for a small fee I can tell you their names, and you can try asking them out. Just PM me. Oh, by that point SootMouth had left as he had another engagement.
The Doctor took us to a fabulous museum and we saw.....(guess: hard on the outside, soft on the inside....)

Armadillo! (And Owl)
We went on the 'Manchester Eye" the view from above:

One person from out group decided to add to the joviality by gesticulating with fingers from their capsule, but the golden moment didn't quite come out on camera...

So you understand, imagine you are in a car passing a bus full of malevolent 10 year old school kids. Now, imagine what they'd do with their fingers. Exactly. That's what me, Ninny and OperaGhost got from another asexual in that capsule. Next time, we will take eggs with us.
You guys are so utterly cool (even OperaGhost in that leather jacket), and it was a truly wonderful day.
Oh, I am still laughing at that one-eyed chicken joke,
Thanks you chaps and chapesses!

You are clearly making this up.
Could you send me the rest of the pictures, pretty please? I am deathly curious.

Great idea to make a general northern thread we can radiate out from (if I read that correctly). Maybe we can get it stickied?
I'm so excited that the northern meetups are becoming more regular and that everyone is getting to know each other. Looking forward to the next one.

I'm the only asexual in the village
How many people google the word "asexual", when they hear the word "asexual"?
