I stand by what I said the other two times - I'll only come if there's a group, and if it's in the afternoon. Saturday mornings, aside from my usual not-a-morning-person issues, would require lots of awkward explanations to my parents.

No, just very paranoid. I've had bad experiences in the past, and I don't plan on putting myself in more potentially dangerous situations, particularly with internet strangers I've never even seen before or talked to. While I'd like to meet other asexuals, I'm more concerned with my safety. If there's one thing I've learnt, it's that nobody is going to look out for me except me.

Hahaha, your going to view us from a distance and check us out. The kids in my class don't like my baggy shirts and think I look strange with out glasses if that's any help.

Realistically I've only met one group of people that I have known online before, and that was at uni but they where all little asian girls so I didn't really feel intimidated by them even though I'm sure they could be scary if they wanted to.

Hi, I'm in Perth and I'd be interested in meeting up on a Saturday during the day.

Skylark: I can understand where you're coming from but can't you lie to your parents? Isn't there any other group you're in like a sports group, high school friends or community theatre? If you are, you could say that you're just going to hang with them or say there's a "meeting". Then, when and if they ask how it went, you could say, "it was boring," so that you can avoid thinking up all sorts of elaborate lies.

As for safety, let's make it a rule that we're always in public so if anyone does anything weird, you can call for help - so no going down dark alleyways.

How can you even ask that? I would never lie to my parents. I would not deserve to be their daughter if I did - my parents have always taken good care of me, and they are deserving of my honesty in return.

Looks like I joined up at the right time! I'd love to come for a meetup, although scheduling everyone is going to be a real headache.

Personally I've never found meeting people from online dangerous or dodgy. I just came back from a month in the US where I lived/worked/hung out with people that I met online or when I got there. I have had a lot of dodgy people try and chat me up online . . . mostly for sex! Something tells me we're not going to have that problem. . . Lol.

Anyday BUT saturday is cool for me. Haha. This IS going to be a pain.

Hi Sophie, gees its been a fair while since I posted this thread, but glad you found it I'm also glad to be back on the forum after having a brief hiatus from AVEN, looks like I was meant to comeback on aven the day after you posted this to arrange a meetup

Lets aim for a meetup PERTH!!!!!!! Robby you in? Skylark has fallen off AVEN not sure about Nez, but yes meet up because I actually want to meet other asexys.
